Tella is a screen recorder that runs in your browser. You record your screen, your camera or both, and Tella turns it into a professional video without complicated editing. Perfect for product demos, tutorials and online courses. When we came on board, Tella had just won Product of the Day on Product Hunt and secured its first funding from Y Combinator (Summer 2020).
The ambition was clear: to challenge Loom’s dominance. To do that, Tella first had to stand out. They wanted to break away from the sea of generic, boring SaaS websites and build a quirky, high-energy online home, made specifically for individual creators and fast-moving product teams.
We presented a bold, unconventional identity featuring a full-bleed, vibrant rainbow gradient, large high-contrast typography and an expressive, transparent feature catalogue. We deliberately steered away from sterile enterprise layouts, creating an immersive visual experience that reflects the creative freedom of the product itself.

“I liked the process a lot, first having vision-talks, getting inspiration, sorting and sifting through that inspiration. Every step felt like getting more refined to what we wanted.”

“With this update, Evers & de Gier basically created a visual identity for us, which was awesome. And even though we've redone the site since then, the visual style lives on! Thanks!”
Tella has since raised a total of $3.5 million, and thousands of creators use the platform. We laid down a design system and visual DNA that still form the foundation of Tella’s brand identity today. As is often the case with a startup, the website has gone through a few iterations since, but the founders still look back fondly on this design and the process, as they wrote in their blog post.
Many thanks to Grant Shaddick and Michiel Westerbeek for their trust and the great collaboration!
