There are more brands than ever. More agencies making them. More tools that let anyone put together a logo and a visual identity in an afternoon.
Standing out hasn't gotten easier. It's gotten harder.
What makes the difference isn't how a brand looks. It's whether it stands for something, whether it's consistent across every touchpoint, and whether it works where people actually encounter it. Not in a PDF. In the product, the website, the first email, the proposal.
We're a branding agency in Rotterdam that designs brand strategy and digital design as one system. For companies where design has direct impact on business: conversion, retention, funding, market position.
What we do
A brand isn't a logo or a colour palette. It's the system that determines how people experience your company and whether they come back.
As a branding agency we develop brand strategy, visual identity and the translation of both into every channel. That means positioning and audience research, logo and typography, a brand identity system that works across every channel, and a tone of voice that's consistent without sounding like a style guide.
Whether you're delivering a professional service, building a product, or repositioning an existing brand: the question is always the same. How does someone experience your company, and does that experience match who you want to be?
Why us
Most branding agencies deliver a brand identity and disappear. Then the work begins: another agency builds the website, a third makes the app. Somewhere in that handoff, what made the brand distinctive gets lost.
We don't do that.
We come from both brand strategy and digital product design. We think in brand strategy and user experience at the same time. We know what breaks when brand and product don't speak the same language, because we've been on the inside, at agencies and at scale-ups.
You work directly with senior designers. No account managers in between. No juniors executing the brief.
Evers + de Gier has further defined and designed our brand with an accessible, appealing brand identity that we can apply ourselves. When it comes to big assignments, they think along and come up with great proposals.
Who we work with
We work best with companies where design has direct influence on business outcomes.
You recognise the moment: your company is growing but your brand hasn't kept up. Or your brand and your customer experience speak two different languages and people can't quite place what you do. Or you're entering a new market and your current brand positioning isn't sending the right signal.
Or you're building something new and want to do it properly from the start.
How a project works
We start with a brand audit and competitive analysis: what's working, what isn't, where the opportunities are. Then positioning, the foundation everything else builds on. From there we develop the visual identity. Everything gets documented in brand guidelines that actually get used. Then we translate it into the places that matter.
A branding agency helps you build a recognisable, distinctive brand. It starts with brand strategy (who you are, who you’re for, why people pick you) and ends with the visual identity that tells that story. We go a step further: we also translate branding into the places where people actually experience your brand.
An advertising agency makes campaigns. A branding agency builds the foundation: the positioning, the identity, the system campaigns can rest on. We’re a branding agency. Not an advertising agency.
In practice the terms are used interchangeably. We call ourselves a branding agency because we also do digital product design alongside brand identity. Whether you call us a studio or an agency, the work is the same.
That depends on the scope — a full brand strategy and identity project is a different investment than a brand refresh or partial identity. We're happy to talk through it in a first conversation.
Always both. We never start visual work without a strategic foundation. A beautiful logo without clear positioning is just decoration.
A full project, from research to delivered brand guidelines, takes an average of six to ten weeks. For a more intensive Brand Sprint we can bring that down to four weeks. Depending on scope and how quickly decisions get made on your end.
Yes. We regularly work alongside in-house marketing or design teams. Sometimes we take on the full project, sometimes we fill in where internal capacity falls short.
Yes. Rebranding, recalibrating an existing brand, is a big part of what we do. We always start with a brand audit to understand what should be kept and what should change.
Yes, and we strongly recommend it. When we handle both the branding and the website there’s no handover where something gets lost. Brand and website are designed as one system from day one.
